To me this piece represents Love & Light. It shows the darkness bellow depicted as being un-happy or in a state of fear. Once the light is introduced it opens up to a world of love and happiness pushing back on the darkness. Ths darkness is required to allow the light to emerge so it still plays a crucial role in the piece.
